We finally made it to Michigan! After weeks of planning, preparing the 4Runner, and a few unexpected delays along the way, Blaze and I finally get the kind of adventure I came here for.

We spend Memorial Day weekend car camping at Ludington State Park, explore some beautiful trails along Lake Michigan, and take on a hike that turns out to be a lot harder than I expected. Deep sand, dwindling water, and one very unexpected emergency make this one of the more memorable hikes of the trip.

After leaving Ludington, we head into Michigan’s state forest where I find a beautiful remote campsite and attempt something I’ve been wanting to test on this trip: working remotely while car camping in the 4Runner.

On paper, it’s pretty much perfect.

Michigan’s mosquitoes have other plans. πŸ˜‚

This trip isn’t just about exploring Michigan. It’s also an experiment to find out whether extended travel in the 4Runner actually works for Blaze and meβ€”and what we’d need to change to make it better.

Thanks for coming along with us! ❀️
