Some places capture your heart like your first crush and then they never let go.
This is one of those places for me. I could come back here again, and again.
I love how:
The surrounding mountain ranges rise up out of nowhere like a well-timed geyser.
The angular points of the mountain peaks painted in golden rays from a sun not quite set. .
The whisper thin clouds race across the sky in swirls and stripes that occasionally reveal the deep blue above.
The stippling of sage brush scattered across the surrounding desert like sprinkled brittle breadcrumbs.
And the sunsets are absolutely breathtaking!
I love how this BLM land is for the public to use (respectfully of course) and that I can camp here for up to fourteen nights absolutely free.
I absolutely love that Blaze is free to roam these worn down trails with me and that we can take our time exploring.
I love that the most amazing dog park is a short drive into town from here. Trust me, we’ve been to a lot of dog parks and it’s the best one we’ve visited so far!
For me, these moments (right here, right now) are ones I’ll cherish for a lifetime — just sitting here in complete silence with Blaze by my side staring out across the desert at this incredible view.
I love that we can sit here soaking it all in, and that I get to share this beautiful setting with you. Isn’t it lovely?
